Hi there, I'm Donna! Hi, I am Donna Gooden, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The most important aspect of therapy is building a solid relationship. Therapy can offer insight, relief, and hope, especially when you feel there is no place to turn. Your therapist should be your partner in this process; your safe space where you can open up without feeling judged. I will provide you with that safe space, a place to share your feelings and experiences and not feel judged. Once I can do this, then the work begins. My approach The therapeutic alliance is critical to any successful outcome in treatment. My therapeutic style is nurturing and warm. My approach is eclectic, I adjust my approach based on the needs of my clients. My focus I like interactive sessions and aim for all my clients to feel welcomed and comfortable. My clinical experience spans from 1997 to the present, and I have worked with all age groups. I currently work with adults. My communication style I listen to my clients, engage honestly, and share things that they may not be aware of. I occasionally assign homework so the therapeutic work is done outside of our sessions. My journey to mental healthcare I love what I do, and working with my clients and helping them process and work through their issues is rewarding for me. My first session with you During the first session, I allow my clients to share their concerns, I get background information and create goals for upcoming sessions.
