What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, respect, and understanding. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences, exploring challenges, and working toward meaningful change. I recognize that seeking therapy can be a significant step, and I meet each client where they are in their journey. I take time to understand your unique experiences, strengths, goals, and concerns while developing a treatment approach that fits your individual needs. Together, we will identify patterns, build healthy coping skills, strengthen emotional wellness, and work toward improved quality of life. My approach is compassionate, practical, and focused on helping clients develop tools they can use both inside and outside of therapy. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based interventions to support personal growth and recovery. Clients can expect honesty, encouragement, and a partnership focused on progress. Change takes time, and my role is to support you, challenge you when appropriate, and help you recognize your own strengths and ability to create positive change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with creating a comfortable and supportive environment where clients can share their concerns, goals, and experiences. During the initial sessions, I focus on building rapport, completing a thorough assessment, and gaining an understanding of each client's history, strengths, challenges, and treatment goals. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that identifies areas of focus and establishes realistic goals for progress. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and strengths-based interventions, while adapting treatment to meet each client's unique needs and preferences. Throughout the therapeutic process, we regularly evaluate progress, identify barriers, and adjust goals as needed. Sessions may focus on developing coping skills, improving emotional regulation, addressing negative thought patterns, processing life experiences, strengthening relationships, and building strategies for long-term wellness and recovery. My approach is collaborative and client-centered. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to provide guidance, support, and clinical tools to help them create meaningful and sustainable change.
