I have over 27 years of experience working with child and adolescent welfare, adolescent and adult mental health and behavioral issues, both inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment, school-based and home-based counseling, and private practice. I specialize in trauma, women's issues, grief and loss, relationship conflict, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, military/veteran population, ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and eating disorders. I currently work with adults from ages 17 all the way to older adults, ages 65+. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Liberty University and my Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling from Marshall University. I have also served as a graduate-level adjunct professor and clinical supervisor. Currently, I serve on the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction & Prevention. How can I help you? I value the client-counselor relationship. It is important to me that I provide my clients with a safe, caring, and accepting environment. Everyone has different experiences, thoughts, and feelings. For this reason, I utilize several evidence-based models of therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Counseling, Person-Centered Therapy, and, at the request of the client, I will use a Christian/Spiritual Therapy approach. I am currently working toward certification as a Trauma-Based Somatic Experiencing Professional. My job is to meet you where you are and develop a healthy, therapeutic connection with you. My goal is to provide you with tools to reach your own personal goals, both great and small. I think you will find that I am a down-to-earth and personable individual.
