Donnah Clark-Miller, LPCC

Psychotherapist
KY
Hello and welcome! I am Donnah Clark, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and supervisor (LPCC-S) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). I love meeting new people and helping them reach their goals. My approach to counseling is collaborative, straightforward, friendly, and nonjudgmental so that we can work together to create a holistic plan of action. My approach I use a variety of techniques from different theoretical frameworks to find an individualized approach to meet a specific need or goal. I primarily use cognitive behavior therapy, EMDR, DBT modalities and utilize motivational interviewing and person-centered principles in every session. I use a variety of screeners to track symptoms in addition to patient feedback to inform our sessions and progress. My focus I work primarily with adolescents and young adults (14 - 30 years), this is the age range which many serious mental illness conditions can develop. I will also see patients outside of this age range. I provide assessment and diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, psychoeducational, individual and family counseling. I have expertise working with early psychosis, clinical high risk, suicide, and trauma. I also have experience working with transitions such as early adult (college, moving out of family home, new parents, and later life transitions). My communication style I take pride in creating a warm and safe space for patients to explore their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and experiences. The therapeutic process will be significantly challenged if you cannot trust your provider. My journey to mental healthcare I have been told I have a "servant's heart," and I enjoy helping people. I think this may stem from being the oldest child (out of 5) and helping to care for younger siblings. I have always been fascinated by psychology and the mind and the ways it connects to our emotional well-being and behaviors.
