Hi there, I'm Donnette! Expert Therapist & Executive Coach 30 years Masters Licensed Experience I have been a Licensed Therapist for over 30 years. I believe in creating a partnership of growth in a healing, safe, and nonjudgemental environment. Whether you want a positive transformation of what you'd like your life to be like or you are dealing with Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Disorders, or other issues I utilize a number of integrative therapeutic modalities that work for the individual. My approach My approach is client-focused and strength-based using evidenced based practices of ACT, CBT, DBT, Reality based, Somatic methods, and Mindfulness as well as others. Trust and honesty build a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters total wellness. My focus I am passionate about helping all people and an advocate of BIPOC and LBGTQ+ communities. In leadership roles and as a therapist I have primarily worked with adults who have mental health, substance abuse, sleep disorders, academic Anxiety, and work stress challenges. My communication style As an expert listener I help people process what they are going through or have gone through. I am warm and nurturing yet when I sense a need, I can be direct to go to a deeper level. My journey to mental healthcare My core value has always been to be of service to others. When I was in college, I was introduced to Substance Abuse Counseling by my best friend who thought I would be good at it. In Michigan in the early 1980's you could obtain a Substance Abuse Counselor's license which is what I earned. After a few years in that field, I decided to balance out my education and experience by getting a Master's Degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan and learn more about Mental Health Therapy. It is an honor to be a partner in someone's wellness journey which I have enjoyed for 30 years now.
