Getting to know Dora-Lisah St. John

*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I support clients managing life stressors and transitions, learning to live with grief, navigating anxiety and depression, unpacking complicated family dynamics, and those feeling “stuck” as they contemplate their next big move. Using a variety of strategies, I help clients identify harmful patterns and establish healthy boundaries that can positively impact all areas of their lives. Therapy is a transformative tool that can heal, motivate, and elevate those ready to engage in the work and embrace the journey of growth. I create a space where all of who you are is seen, valued, and celebrated-a place where you can truly be yourself. I believe in honoring “small wins” as you work toward lasting change. In my life, I value time with friends and family, and am a bibliophile, an avid traveler with over 30 countries visited, a live music enthusiast, and a full-time foodie. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach. You deserve fulfillment. I believe therapy helps cultivate a meaningful life-one that faces challenges with new perspectives. It takes courage to be vulnerable and open to change, and if you’re here, you’re already halfway there. Dora-Lisah St. John has a Master’s in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Lisah is a Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW 090954 at Cerebral. Supervised by Bridgette Mavec, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW 096319.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our work together, I’ll encourage you to embrace your authentic self—quirks and all! I believe that being true to yourself is essential for personal growth. My role is to support you as you evolve into a more self-aware and confident version of yourself. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, identifying the barriers holding you back while celebrating your strengths. I want you to feel empowered to take the steps needed to create positive change in your life. This journey is about you, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way, fostering an environment where you can thrive.
