What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, clients can expect a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they are truly heard. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, collaboration, and understanding, as I believe this is the foundation for meaningful progress. My style is warm yet goal-oriented. I meet clients where they are and work at a pace that feels comfortable while also encouraging growth and positive change. Together, we identify challenges, set realistic goals, and develop practical strategies to improve emotional well-being and daily functioning. I use an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, behavioral techniques, solution-focused strategies, and, when appropriate, hypnotherapy and relaxation methods. I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Clients should expect active participation in the process, as therapy works best when it is collaborative. My goal is to help each person build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change that supports recovery, stability, and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with an initial evaluation where I take time to understand each client’s history, current concerns, and treatment goals. I focus on getting a full picture of emotional health, substance use (if applicable), life stressors, and any co-occurring conditions so I can develop an appropriate and personalized treatment plan. In the early sessions, we work together to identify priorities and set realistic, meaningful goals. I also assess what level of support is needed and may incorporate coordination of care, including referrals or collaboration with other providers when appropriate. Ongoing sessions are structured but flexible, depending on the client’s needs. We typically focus on processing current challenges, building coping skills, and using evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and behavioral techniques to support change and growth. For some clients, I may also incorporate relaxation techniques, hypnotherapy, or solution-focused interventions to support emotional regulation and stress reduction. Throughout the process, I regularly check in on progress and adjust the treatment approach as needed. My goal is to ensure therapy remains practical, supportive, and aligned with each client’s personal goals for recovery, stability, and overall well-being.
