Getting to know Douglas Thomas
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I began my professional career in 2005 working as a caseworker helping children and families maintain safe and healthy environments as well as financial stability. Since then, I have completed master's degrees in counselor education and clinical counseling, including a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and was first licensed as a professional counselor in 2014. I'm currently credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. In my career, I've been privileged to serve many individuals in crisis, community-based, and outpatient counseling settings. I've worked with many individuals experiencing mood and anxiety concerns, addiction, trauma, and severe and debilitating mental health issues.

Each person's therapy needs are unique, and I will try my best to meet your specific needs, whether you're looking for a space to explore and process your thoughts and feelings or something more goal driven and solution focused. And if you're not sure what you're looking for, we'll work together to figure that out. Regardless of how we proceed, using an integrative model of therapy, I'll offer you an inclusive space that is kind, free of judgment, and focused on your personal strengths.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
