Getting to know Dr. Donetta Quinones
I am a licensed, independent mental health counselor in Washington State (license #LH600954518) and Texas State (license #87983). I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Walden University, where I also completed my master’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology in 2009. My bachelor's degree is in Spanish with a focus in Business from the University of Maryland, College Park. Since August 2012, I have been in private practice providing life coaching in academic, personal, and professional development. My professional background includes working in community mental health, where I conducted assessments, created treatment plans, and provided therapeutic support. Additionally, I have experience working with mentally ill offenders in correctional settings, conducting evaluations, offering brief therapeutic interventions, and delivering transitional support services. I also worked in a civil commitment center, providing sexual offender therapeutic support to residents. My forensic mental health experience has equipped me to work with individuals facing a broad spectrum of issues, including co-occurring disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, acute mental health diagnoses, codependency, addiction, trauma, and domestic violence.
