Dr. Nicole Campbell, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CT
I want to take a moment to say an official hello. I look forward to working with you and providing improved access to mental health care in addition to empowering you to make behavioral changes and reconnect to a community of your choice. My approach I feel that my work and process with my clients is a give and take. They learn from me and I learn from them. I believe that individuals learn from their observations and interactions. At the end of the day, I need my clients' perspective about their experiences to assist me and them to develop solutions and interventions. This all works toward providing the best care for my clients and the best therapeutic relationship experience for my clients. Therefore, it truly is a win-win. My focus As I assist clients with reintegrating back into the community, I enjoy helping clients identify and/or create supports in their lives. In addition, I have personally seen when clients receive psychoeducation, it has helped clients learn what they can control regarding their emotional and chronic pain issues, as well as helped me and the clients to select interventions that will specifically be able to assist them with their individual treatment goals. My communication style I identify my Trinidadian-American/Caribbean heritage as my primary culture. Even though I was born in the United States, from as early as I can remember, my nuclear and extended family always instilled that we come from Trinidad and Tobago. My primary culture influences my therapeutic relationships in that my client’s social identities (like race, gender, etc.) and my own social identities may impact the therapy process is an integral part of the therapeutic work that I do. Since social justice is one of the cornerstones of Social Work, as a therapist, part of my work is educating, advocating for, and addressing issues related to identities, power, and privilege. In addition, my identities are responsible for shaping my worldview.
