CA
Hi, my name is Dulce Alvarado, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles. I work with children and adolescents using various approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My approach My work with clients begins by gaining insight into their needs to identify the best way to provide support. I strive to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and feelings. I believe that developing a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is the foundation for supporting clients throughout the treatment process. My focus I have experience working with children and adolescents facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and stress. I also work with youth involved in the child welfare system who have experienced trauma related to abuse, neglect, and attachment disruptions. I support my clients by helping them develop skills to navigate their challenges, build resilience, and process their trauma. My communication style I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and know they are heard and understood. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I enjoy helping others. I am a strong listener and bring a calmness that helps people feel comfortable talking to me. Growing up, I was curious about how people's experiences impact their lives, and that curiosity, combined with my desire to help, led me to become a therapist. Now, I find joy in supporting those I work with and witnessing the positive changes they make along the way.
