Dulce Merida is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University. For thirteen years, Dulce worked as a preschool teacher while also serving in Youth Ministry at her church. She discovered her passion for counseling after experiencing the care and patience of a counselor in her early twenties. Dulce believes counseling is most effective when the client and counselor collaborate to foster growth. She holds that with patience, a willingness to do the hard work, and encouragement, clients can achieve the clarity they seek in sessions. Dulce integrates various clinical theories and interventions in her work, including Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Internal Family Systems. She has experience addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other clinical needs. Throughout her life, Dulce has worked in diverse settings with children (ages 3-12) and teenagers (13-18). She offers clients unconditional care by engaging deeply, showing empathy, and reflecting feelings back to them. When not working, Dulce enjoys working out, reading, cooking, and spending time with her four pets?two cats and two dogs?as well as with family and friends.
