Getting to know Dulibel Guzman

My focus is to provide a compassionate and safe space for individuals who are undergoing struggles or challenges with general anxiety , social anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, self esteem, communication and conflict resolution skills, interpersonal relationships, etc. Oftentimes life events and experiences can alter how we see life, go through it, and experience it which results in changing one’s thought process, mood, perspective, emotions, and behaviors. In my work with clients, I found that creating a safe space to process and feel our emotions while also understanding our behaviors cultivates the first step for change. I believe that therapy is not one type/size fits all and place my focus on person centered approaches, focusing on therapeutic rapport to be able to provide supportive reflection, challenge, and walk along side my clients for change. Overall, the goal is to create a toolbox of skills we can possess towards taking control of our lives and maintaining our utmost mental health. As the world is in constant change, it may seem as though we lose control. However, learning what is within our control and chipping away at those challenges through small active steps, make a world of a difference. I love to take an approach where transformative tools and talk therapy are intertwined. I focus on interventions such Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness, Person Centered and Somatic approaches. Overall, aiding in the development of tangible life and emotional regulation skills while offering support throughout the process. I understand how difficult it can be to find the right therapist for you and how intimidating it can feel to discuss details on one’s life with another unknown individual. For this reason, I meet individuals where they are at and place patience and compassion at the forefront of treatment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to express yourself openly. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that therapy meets you where you are. I use evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, to help you develop practical skills and address the challenges you’re facing. My goal is to empower you to explore your thoughts and emotions, build resilience, and take steps toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll work at your pace to ensure therapy feels supportive, productive, and aligned with your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with understanding your unique experiences and goals. In the first session, we’ll discuss your concerns, history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan tailored to your needs. A typical session involves a mix of open dialogue and practical strategies, guided by evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, or Emotion-Focused Therapy. Each session provides a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions while also building tools to address challenges and make meaningful progress. My focus is on meeting you where you are, offering support, and empowering you to take steps toward growth and healing.
