Hi there, I'm Dyelicia! Hello, my name is Dyelicia Vasquez. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work from Jackson State University. I have been working in mental health for over 16 years now, and I absolutely love what I do. I look forward to helping you on your mental health journey. My approach I believe therapy is a precious and unique journey. I listen in a nonjudgmental way while providing nontraditional style services. I utilize CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to assist with a person's therapeutic goals. My focus I typically work with individuals experiencing mild anxieties, grief, daily life issues, adjustment disorders, depression, as well as child and family dynamics. My communication style I am very down to earth and transparent. I am honest and direct and encourage the same openness with those I work with. My journey to mental healthcare For most of my life, I have been the responsible one in my family. I have experienced my own traumas and adversities, which have led me to the work I do. I have always wondered why people do the things they do and how their environment impacts many of their decisions. I believe happiness is possible if a person is ready to experience it, even when it can be uncomfortable. My goals for you It is important that individuals define their own goals. My job is to assist in getting there by understanding one's past, present, and future. I utilize the strengths of the individual to help them reach their goals. My first session with you In the first session, I like to get to know the person I am working with and give them a chance to get to know me. I also review any assessments given and discuss any biases toward therapy or mental health, if any. I welcome questions to help individuals feel comfortable with me as their potential therapist.
