What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is open minded, affirming, and warm. I believe in establishing a supportive environment for clients by acknowledging their complex needs and utilizing trauma-informed care. My work is informed by psychodynamic theory, which examines the motivations behind our behaviors and emotions. I feel that clients’ success in therapy is related to the level of comfort and rapport they have with their therapist. I strive to foster a strengths-based, person-centered environment in sessions. I focus on establishing a therapeutic relationship that feels safe and approachable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our initial consultation, we'll meet for 15 minutes to get to know each other and confirm we're a good fit for your needs. I’ll ask you to share information that will help me understand what you hope to gain from therapy, and you are welcome to ask questions about me and my clinical practice. From there, we'll book a full intake session (~55 min) to begin developing a treatment plan that will support you in taking steps towards your therapeutic/emotional goals.
