I have been through many of the challenges that my clients face. For those I haven't experienced personally, I have witnessed close friends navigate them. Especially in my own relationship, I have encountered many of the struggles my clients bring to therapy. Working with other couples during these difficult times helped me discover my passion for couples therapy. By supporting others in improving their relationships, I was also able to strengthen my own. Coming from a Caribbean background and having friends from diverse walks of life, I understand these issues from multiple perspectives. I pursued therapy because I have always had incredible mentors and therapists who helped me through tough times. Their support inspired me to be that person for others. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Long Island University, which equipped me with the skills to guide clients effectively. As simple and perhaps cheesy as it sounds, my mission as a therapist is to help people become their best selves. I want to help couples realize they can overcome even the most challenging problems and provide them with the tools and strategies to sustain their growth long after our work together. I am honest and direct. I help clients view their lives and situations from fresh perspectives and encourage them to ask the hard questions. I am easy to talk to and genuinely care more about your transformation as an individual or couple than about profiting from endless sessions. I am a mom of two amazing young girls, a wife, and fortunate to have the most incredible friends anyone could ask for. They inspire me daily to be a better therapist and join me on wild adventures, like camping in the woods during a pandemic.
