E Williams, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
As a mental health clinician with nearly three decades of experience, I'm also a retired educator/administrator with a noteworthy 48 years of service in public education. I am a proud 14-year active volunteer with the American Red Cross, involved in Disaster Mental Health, Services to the Armed Forces, and Yellow Ribbons Events, and facilitating Reconnection Workshops for soldiers and their families upon deployment and re-deployment. I have proven effectiveness working with a wide range of situations from addictive disorders to Christian counseling and school-oriented issues. I find profound joy in contributing to my clients' growth and development. The initial session of ours is a meet-and-greet where I share details about myself, explain my understanding of CONFIDENTIALITY, a principle I cherish, and lay out the ground rules, with an amusing touch. I assert the expectation of consistent homework and welcome my clients to extensively share about themselves. Following this, we embark on a rewarding journey of growth together. My abilities as a provider hinge notably on my empathy, honesty, extensive knowledge, experience, warm-heartedness, sense of humor, and openness. I accommodate clients who come prepared for therapy, honest about their selves, and willing to confront spiritual, social/emotional, and personal challenges, irrespective of their magnitude. I encourage full transparency as we navigate this journey together. Our work is anchored on trust, truth, self-disclosure, introspection, homework, and feedback. Evaluation and modification of thought patterns and behaviors pave the way for life-long transformation and learning.
