Getting to know Edith Gisselle Gonzalez

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern working under the supervision of Sandra Calzadilla, LMHC. I work with adults navigating emotional and behavioral challenges, providing a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable opening up and being yourself. I treat concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, helping you build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your daily life. I use evidence-based techniques including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused care, and somatic approaches. I also have experience supporting a wide range of needs, including ADHD, OCD, sleep concerns, chronic pain, and substance use. My goal is to meet you where you are and support steady, lasting growth toward improved well-being. Session Information (Self-Pay Rates) • Therapy Evaluation: $180 (60 minutes) • Therapy Follow-Up: $160 (60 minutes) These rates apply to self-pay patients. If you are using insurance, the cost of services will be determined by your insurance plan based on your specific benefits, copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you begin therapy with me, you can expect a warm and respectful space where you feel heard and valued. I focus on building trust so you can feel comfortable opening up, especially when talking about more sensitive topics. My approach is supportive and tailored to you. Together, we will explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while also working on practical tools to help you manage challenges in your daily life. I keep sessions centered on your goals and move at a pace that feels right for you. My intention is to help you build self-awareness, improve emotional balance, and make meaningful progress toward feeling better overall.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin working together, I take time to understand what you are going through, your background, and what you hope to get out of therapy. This helps us build a strong foundation and create a plan that feels right for you. In our sessions, we will have open and supportive conversations where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and current challenges. I also incorporate practical tools and techniques to help you build coping skills and better understand patterns that may be affecting your well-being. As we move forward, we will check in on your progress and adjust as needed. My goal is to make sure our work together stays helpful, supportive, and aligned with your growth.
