Getting to know Edith Little

I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am a compassionate social worker who is an active listener. I am an active listener who is dedicated to working tirelessly to help you resolve issues and thrive on your own terms. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, situational family therapy, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and NLP I also have experience in grief and bereavement counseling. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with mindfulness. I am most comfortable treating anyone over the age of 18. I do not want to work with children, couples counseling, or bi-polar. I would hope that others find me to be an attentive listener, to be sensitive, and empathic. I am not there to tell them what to do but help them find the resources that they can utilize to become a thriving individual. I think that I have always been a helping person. I felt that this was what my calling was to be and in 1987 I went and received my Master's in Social Work. I feel that there is so much pain in this world and I had a counselor when I was a summer missionary in 1982 in South Carolina who taught hug therapy I think that was when I knew that I wanted to help others find a path to thriving not just surviving and feel that in the last years since 1990, I hope that in Iowa have made this happen. I would see this as a team approach, to help clients to identify why they are seeking counseling and what I can do to help them in this process. To help set small individual goals as they look at the big picture and to build success. They will come to a place where they can feel to talk about whatever they need to do so, to let them know that I am honored and feel it is a privilege to walk this journey with them.
