Getting to know Edna Sanders

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Indiana and New Jersey, I provide confidential virtual therapy to meet you wherever you are. With over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, I’ve had the honor of working with individuals from all walks of life. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, respect, and empathy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I prioritize clear, open, and honest communication to foster a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. My approach is rooted in active listening, empathy, and mutual respect. I give you space to reflect on your thoughts and experiences, while offering insight and guidance as a compassionate partner in your journey. When we’re working through difficult or sensitive issues, you can expect me to remain calm, patient, and grounded—always holding space for you to process at your own pace. I believe that genuine, respectful communication builds trust and allows for meaningful therapeutic progress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After you schedule an appointment with me, I am going to send you a link. You will be seen on Rula or Grow which are therapy platforms I am using to verify your insurance before I see you. Our first session is a welcoming space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll take time to answer any questions you have about the therapy process and help you feel comfortable as we get started. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore some of your background, and begin identifying the goals you’d like to work toward. It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous before your first session—many people do. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, and I’ll be here to guide you with care and patience. Throughout our work together, I’ll check in with you regularly to see how you feel about the process and address any concerns. Open and honest communication is essential for therapy to be effective, but I understand that it can take time to build trust. As we continue, we’ll develop a strong, collaborative relationship that supports your healing and growth.
