Getting to know Edna Williams

My name is Edna Williams, and I bring over 20 years of experience to the counseling field. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling from Troy University. I believe in a Trauma-Informed Care approach. This is your journey as the person seeking treatment, and my goal is to assist you on that path by building skills.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As we process through your journey the goal is to learn and gain greater insight into new patterns of thoughts and behaviors to assist in over coming what brought you to session, or live with it more balanced. My sessions are typically 45 minutes to an hour.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During sessions you will have the opportunity to be heard and given time to process your concurrent concerns and thoughts related to your treatment. I will provide motivational interviewing to assist in gaining greater insight into the complexity of your issues that bring you to counseling. Each session we will end with an opportunity to revisit what skills learned from the session and how to implement those in your life.

During intake your insurance and co-pays if any will be discussed. As my panel for insurances increases my list of accepted plans will be updated. A plan for coverage will occur prior to our session together. If you need to reschedule, please do so with at least a 48 hour week day time frame. No shows will be assessed a 100.00 fee for the no show appt.
