Relationships can be challenging, but they are also where we can heal. While relationships sometimes cause pain, they can also help us recover. As a couple and family psychotherapist and licensed professional counselor, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds. My main goal is to create a partnership with each person in therapy. When relationships lack a secure foundation, they can become stuck rather than grow. I am trained in couples counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and premarital counseling. I use a mix of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Imago Therapy, Systemic Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Psychoanalytic Couples Therapy. I work best with people who are open, curious, and willing to commit to therapy. I specialize in helping with infidelity, betrayal, becoming a parent, Latino men's mental health, immigrant experiences, unhealthy family patterns, parenting and co-parenting, bi-racial cultural differences, stress from larger systems, and emotional distance. In my experience, these challenges are often connected to mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. I have a Master’s in Couple and Family Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. I am currently training in Integrative Psychoanalytical Couples Therapy at The Institute for Clinical Social Work, and I have experience working in community mental health.
