Getting to know Edward Gibson

I have been in the mental health field since 2007. When I first started, I was told that the average time people stay in this field is two years. I am still here because helping others is more than a career choice for me-it is my passion in life. Helping others is a daily goal I set for myself, and I look forward to every opportunity to do so. I enjoy seeing people make positive changes in their lives. I have worked with families, couples, children, adolescents, and teens from various cultures and backgrounds. Each case and each client is unique in their own way, and every client is important. My particular areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage counseling, and family counseling. I refer to myself as a "simple-minded therapist," which means we will explore simple ways to address the presenting concerns because many times the solutions are so straightforward they can be easily overlooked. I am a firm believer that holding a conversation is more productive than me expounding on theoretical approaches. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal each session will be to empower the client to become the expert in their recovery. My goal is to assist the client with discovering and and using the tools that they already have and to provide the client with tools and skills they can use long after treatment has concluded.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
