Getting to know Edward Jones

I am deeply curious about people and love helping them discover unexplored parts of themselves. Seemingly simple questions like "What do I want from life and how do I go about getting it?" become less straightforward when we realize that the answers we've previously given are not sufficient. With a Master's in Psychoanalysis from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, I am equipped to guide individuals toward a more satisfying relationship with the world and with themselves. I hope to help make meaningful progress toward that goal.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a psychoanalyst, I am trained primarily in the act of listening. I invite the people I work with to put all of their feelings into words, a kind of translation. We both then have the opportunity to makes sense and meaning out of how the inner world of mind and heart makes contact with the outside world of relationships and other sources of gratification and frustration.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You can expect an open and inquisitive partner in hearing your story and understanding all parts of yourself, those parts you're proud of and those you might wish were a little (or a lot) different. In a world where a wide variety of roles are expected of us, some much less comfortable than others, it is my hope that you would feel permitted to truly be yourself during our time together.
