Hi, my name is Elaine, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the state of Wisconsin, I have over 30 years of experience working as a Social Worker and practicing psychotherapy's I have worked in on public and private hospitals and small social service agencies, Mental health has always been my focus, my clients'' have carried diagnosis of depression/anxiety, as well as bi-polar disorders and schizophrenias. In addition, I have worked with older adults and the physically disabled, as well as most of the rest of us that we call the "walking worried." Life presents us all with challenges. While in the middle of a crisis we sometimes forget what has brought us through hard times before. I respect that you are your own life expert, and I would love to assist in helping you take back your life.by learning and re-learning new coping skills. I am an open and non-judgmental person; clients tell me I have a calming effect on them. I also like to bring humor into the therapy space. I never laugh at clients' but have found that laughing at absurdities when timed correctly can be therapeutic for all of us.

I have studied a variety of therapies including but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Humanistic, Brief Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I have incorporated this learning along with my own life lessons into my practice which I call eclectic. When I am not working, I enjoy new and old friendships. I am an avid pet parent to two wonderful dogs. I love to stay fit with long walks and I take online tap dancing lessons. Traveling is also a passion of mine.

I hope I can be that person for you. - Set clear goals: It's important to have clear goals for therapy so that you and I are on the same page. In our first session, we will discuss your goals and work together to create a treatment plan that outlines the steps you will take to achieve those goals. - Try to be open and honest with me about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am here to help you, and I can only do so if I have a clear understanding of what's going on. - Trust the process: Therapy can be a long process, and it's important to trust that the work you're doing with me will pay off in the end. It's also important to be patient and not expect instant results. - Practice self-care: In addition to attending therapy sessions, it's important to practice self-care on a regular basis. This may include activities such as exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones. - Keep an open mind: Finally, it's important to keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. As your therapist, I may suggest different techniques or approaches that you haven't tried before, and it's important to be receptive to these suggestions.
