She went back to school and earned her Master of Arts in Educational Psychology: Guidance and Counseling; both from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 1998, working with adolescents, young adults, and families that exhibit at risk behaviors including running away, truancy, substance abuse, and family conflict, have experienced trauma as well as abuse, and are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation/attempts, and self-harm in a variety of settings since 1995. She has specialized training to include play therapy techniques, trauma and abuse, trauma informed care, conduct disorders, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. She became an LPC Supervisor in 2006. She has a passion for working with LPC-Associates, helping the next generation of counselors as they learn, grow, and reach their future goals.
