Hello, I'm Elaine. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and transition planning for youth entering adulthood. Additionally, I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Transition Specialist. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, thought disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I provided rehabilitation counseling to those seeking career and vocational guidance and supported families in transitioning their children from high school to adult living by connecting them with essential adult service agencies and community resources.
My counseling style is rooted in a person-centered approach that fosters self-determination and empowerment. I believe the foundation of effective therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship, built on respect, compassion, and authenticity. I integrate various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. This allows me to tailor our sessions and treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each individual and family I work with.
