Getting to know Elaine Luna

If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure where to turn, you're not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. At Healing Connection Therapy, Inc., I provide a compassionate, supportive space where children, adults, and families can feel heard, understood, and truly cared for. I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, OCD, trauma, and difficult life transitions using evidence-based approaches that are tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, my goal is to help you feel relief, gain practical tools, and begin experiencing meaningful change as soon as possible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative, warm, and focused on helping you feel safer, more confident, and more connected in your life and relationships. In-person and telehealth appointments are available in English and Spanish. Reaching out can feel hard — but it can also be the first step toward healing. I look forward to supporting you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a warm, welcoming intake designed to help you feel comfortable and understood. There is no pressure and no judgment — just space for you to share what’s been weighing on you and what you’re hoping will feel different. I take time to truly listen so we can build a strong foundation of trust and collaboration from the start. After our initial appointment, I provide thoughtful recommendations for next steps in treatment, including the approach that will best support your goals. Depending on your needs, this may include evidence-based modalities such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I’ll explain the “why” behind the approach so you feel informed and confident in the plan. While treatment does have structure — because structure helps create meaningful progress — I remain flexible and responsive. If something urgent or unexpected comes up, we make space to address it. Your real-life experiences matter, and therapy should support you in real time. When working with children, I maintain frequent communication with parents or caregivers to ensure we’re aligned and supporting progress both in and outside of sessions. When appropriate, I may also recommend family therapy to strengthen connection, improve communication, and support lasting change within the family system. Above all, therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs.

Elaine specializes in anxiety, trauma, and OCD, with particular expertise working with children and families, bringing both clinical skill and genuine warmth to her work. What stands out is how she meets kids where they are - using creative, play-based interventions instead of relying on traditional talk therapy, while keeping parents informed and equipped to support their child at home. If you're looking for a provider who specializes in childhood anxiety, trauma, or OCD and brings real heart to the work, I'd recommend Elaine without hesitation!

Therapy with her is holistic in that she collaborates with parents in order ensure what is happening in therapy is being translated into the home. Which is key to great outcomes!
