Hi there, I'm Elena! Hello, My name is Elena Martin and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Alaska. I have been providing counseling services in Alaska for over 15 years. I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and I am a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDCII). I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), MATRIX (evidence-based treatment for addiction), Love and Logic (Parenting Solutions). My approach I am enthusiastic and caring about working with people. I believe that every person is unique. My counseling approach is eclectic providing my clients an opportunity for treatment, which meets their specific needs. I utilize various approaches, depending on my client's needs, some are to mention CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Client-Centered, Psychoanalytical. My focus I work with teens and adults, while I am specializing in depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, and relational issues. I also provide counseling for couples. I am a strong supporter to the clients, who experienced domestic violence or staying in abusive relationships. My communication style I value warmth, respect, genuineness, non-judgmental, and a safe atmosphere where you can share your story and feel understood. My communication style and approach works well with teens and adults. My journey to mental healthcare I was born and grew up in Ukraine and I live in Alaska since 1995. Remembering the USSR, no therapy was available, but so many people have been struggling with mental health issues. My journey to become a therapist began in 2007. At that time, I worked as a school based Mental Health Assistant, helping teens with behavioral issues. Over the years of working in behavioral health field, it turned into my career choice. Helping other people to resolve their traumas, addictions, relational or personal issues is incredibly rewarding to me. While addressing my client's needs.
