Getting to know Elisa Fu

Hi! My name is Elisa (EE-LISA) and I am an EMDR trained, specialized trauma psychotherapist for folks in Washington State. I have been a therapist since 2021, a social worker since 2015, and I have owned my own therapy practice since 2024. I love supporting folks on their way towards healing, recovery and survival at various parts in their journey. I have gained a fierce need to support fellow femmes and thems, immigrants and children of immigrants and survivors of trauma, neglect and abuse along the way. Life is hard. I'm here for as long as you need me.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am telehealth only and my waitlist is always open, which means that sometimes you might hear my cat Beefsteak wanting to join the conversation in the background. It is so important for me to get to know new clients so that I can know all the best ways to provide support, so the first few sessions I will 100% want to know your story and what your goals are for therapy. I am a goal oriented therapist because I believe that it is the best way to provide structure, direction, and trust. I also limit my monthly intakes, but if you are in dire need of support, please reach out to me to be added to my waitlist.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide EMDR with fidelity based on the most recent trainings that I have attended (and I attend annual EMDR conventions). EMDR follows an 8 phase approach to address future fears, current stressors, and resolve past memories so they no longer continue to activate you as you continue to move on through life. I provide self-care and coping strategies as needed and we set intentions together regarding agreed upon therapeutic goals.
