Psychotherapist
CA
Welcome to the beginning of your therapeutic journey! It is so good to have you here. I know that this may have been a difficult decision, so I just want to reassure you that I am here to support your individual needs every step of the way. My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, and client-centered. We will go at the pace you are comfortable with, working to achieve the goals you set. Let me know when you are ready to begin! My approach I utilize a strengths-based approach to empower each client to utilize their individual strengths. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which focuses on emotion regulation and interpersonal skills. I often employ techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support individuals with identifying and correcting maladaptive thinking patterns. I try to incorporate mindfulness and other relaxation strategies as well. I think the most important thing to note is that I will work with you to see what strategies and approaches work best for you. My focus I have spent the last few years working with adults and adolescents with severe trauma, anxiety, and depression. Prior to that, I worked with young adults who were struggling with life transitions. I feel confident in being able to support those who are struggling with any of these challenges or who are just looking to improve their coping skills, interpersonal skills, or build upon their existing strengths. My communication style I believe in open and honest communication. I approach all clients in an empathetic manner to support in processing their unique thoughts and feelings. I may at times gently confront you if it will benefit you. If there is ever something that you do not like or understand, I always encourage you to let me know so we can work through it together.
