Getting to know Elisabeth Pollack

You are insightful and self-aware; you know all of the “right” things to do and think, and yet you still struggle to truly feel good enough. Have you spent your life trying to achieve and move up the ladder, only to still feel anxious, panicky, or like something is missing? You might be a people pleaser who struggles to say no or set healthy boundaries. Maybe you have a hard time showing all of yourself to loved ones and instead present only the parts that seem likable-leaving you feeling unknown and alone. You may give and give to others yet neglect to care for yourself or ask for your own needs to be met. Perhaps hard things have happened to you that continue to bother you. Maybe you didn't get the loving and safe childhood that all kids deserve. You don't need to live with that critical voice controlling your life or that relentless anxiety. You don't need to stay trapped inside your past experiences. It's possible to truly feel different. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles, and I am committed to supporting you in finding healing and self-acceptance.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Have you been in therapy before and feel like you reached a plateau or weren’t able to get the deeper level of healing you hoped for? I am able to help you to find deeper healing through my use of EMDR, in combination with talk therapy approaches. I take an active and collaborative approach to therapy. I will help you build skills to help calm your nervous system, to naturally shift your thinking, and to gain insight into your patterns. Many clients tell me they wish they had found me years ago. Reach out for support so that things can start to get better.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will tailor treatment to meet your unique needs, utilizing an array of effective therapeutic approaches in a holistic way. I believe our relationship is foundational to effective therapy and prioritize building a trusting and warm therapeutic relationship above all us.

I have worked with Beth for over a year and have felt better than I ever have. She has helped me heal from my painful childhood and learn how to provide the care for myself that I never received or felt worthy of before. She is warm, intuitive, funny, and skilled.
Beth is an incredible therapist. I have had a few in my life and have never felt so understood and supported. She really knows her stuff too and is not just there for you to vent. She has helped me gain so much insight and taught me tools to help myself deal with stress and decrease anxiety. She is an amazing EMDR therapist and I feel like my painful past experiences are no longer defining me. She truly cares and that has been so healing.
