The right place for Christian and Catholic women to process hurt and pain You may be feeling like you are alone. No one understands why you are conflicted between what your faith and society tell you is best. You don’t want to minimize how significant your walk with God is or what you are going through. You want to move past the hurt and confusion, but instead you feel: • Misunderstood • Scared of the unknown • Overcome with sadness and longing for what life was like • Like everything is moving forward while you are at a standstill • Unable to communicate with loved ones • Sad and angry about the hurt you experienced • Wondering how long you have to feel this way You may find yourself short or easily frustrated with your spouse, children, family, or co-workers, having difficulty focusing at home or work, crying more than usual, and feeling sad or lonely. Life doesn’t have to stay this way. I am a Catholic/Christian therapist who has experienced hurt and pain in different areas of my life. I believe that a client-centered, narrative approach allows you to freely share your experience. You don’t have to continue to feel overwhelmed, and you don’t have to do it alone. My name is Elisabeth. I am a wife and mother of two. I have experienced traumatic events such as having my firstborn as a premature baby. I have also faced different types of hurts and pain throughout various phases of my life. Each experience and role shapes who I am and my journey as a wife, mother, friend, and therapist. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with over 16 years of experience in direct counseling and case management. I have worked with couples, families, and individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, and transitional adjustments. I am also a Certified Grief Educator, trained by David Kessler.
