Elizabeth Calderon, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CT
Hello ? my name is Elizabeth Calderon, but you can call me Liz. I have been a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist since 2020, with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. My greatest honor is supporting people through change and being part of their journey from hurt to healing. I focus on solutions and client-centered therapy, mediating family and relational issues, navigating grief, and guiding the road to recovery from trauma. My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I most frequently utilize Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am especially drawn to helping people experiencing grief and relational challenges, military personnel and their families, and those who have faced trauma. I want my clients to know I truly care. I use active listening and open-ended questions to encourage elaboration and self-reflection. I strive to convey understanding while maintaining calmness and empathy. My journey to mental healthcare began in a family where serving others and giving back were deeply valued. It felt natural to pursue a career that honors social justice and helping others. Goal setting is a collaborative process where the client is the expert on their desired outcomes. I guide open conversations, explore the client's values, and help break down goals into manageable steps. In our first session, you can expect to answer questions about your life and background and discuss your therapy goals. There will also be time for you to ask questions about my approach and experience.
