Psychotherapist
30200 Rancho Viejo Rd, Ste D, San Juan Capistrano, CA
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, grief, relationship difficulties and major life transitions. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and have advanced training in EMDR, Brainspotting, clinical hypnotherapy, mindfulness, integrative mental health and other mind-body approaches. I especially enjoy working with people who are used to being the strong one—the caregivers, professionals, parents, perfectionists and people-pleasers who appear capable on the outside but may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or exhausted within. Many of my clients come to therapy because they are tired of overthinking, overfunctioning or putting everyone else’s needs ahead of their own. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and trauma-informed. I integrate traditional talk therapy with somatic and experiential practices to help you understand not only what you are thinking but also what your body may be communicating. Together, we can explore the patterns beneath your symptoms, build practical tools for managing stress and create meaningful changes that feel sustainable in your daily life. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, supported and understood—not judged or pressured. Our work will be tailored to your individual needs, goals and pace. Depending on what feels most helpful to you, sessions may include insight-oriented conversation, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, EMDR, Brainspotting, breathwork-informed practices or other evidence-informed approaches. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, strengthen your voice and move through life with greater calm, confidence and authenticity. For clients who desire it, Christian faith-integrated therapy is also available.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, compassionate and personalized. I want you to feel heard, understood and comfortable being yourself—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, meaning we may explore not only your thoughts and emotions but also how stress and past experiences are showing up in your body, relationships and daily life. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, somatic techniques, EMDR, Brainspotting, breathwork and other experiential approaches. During our first sessions, we will talk about what is bringing you in, what you hope will change and what has or has not helped in the past. Together, we will create a practical path forward that feels manageable and aligned with your goals. My style is warm and supportive while also being honest, engaged and gently challenging when it can help you grow. You can expect our work to go beyond simply managing symptoms. We will work toward understanding the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthening your connection with yourself and helping you create meaningful, lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins by creating a safe, supportive space where you can share what is bringing you to therapy and what you hope will change. During our first sessions, we will explore your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, strengths and goals. Together, we will develop a personalized plan that reflects your unique needs. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed and integrative. A typical session may include talk therapy along with mindfulness, somatic awareness, nervous system regulation and practical strategies you can use between sessions. When appropriate, I may also incorporate EMDR, Brainspotting, breathwork, guided imagery or other mind-body techniques. I do not believe therapy should feel like a one-size-fits-all process. Some sessions may focus on understanding patterns and processing emotions while others may involve building coping skills, working through traumatic experiences or practicing new ways of responding. We will regularly check in about your progress and adjust our approach as needed so our work continues to feel meaningful and aligned with your goals.
