Liz Cooke, LMSW, has a therapeutic approach that is compassionate and collaborative, helping her clients recognize and build on their unique strengths and needs as a way to reach their goals. As a lifelong learner, she believes in the power of therapy to develop greater self-awareness, new ways of approaching challenges, and a path to a more joyful, satisfying life. A native New Yorker, Liz earned her Master's in Social Work from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She spent 10 years in Los Angeles, where she gained an appreciation for holistic healing and well-being. Mental health, she believes, is about treating the person, not just a symptom. Liz sees each client as a unique individual influenced by various biological, psychological, and social factors. With that in mind, she works with clients to develop a therapeutic system that best suits their individual needs. Liz has worked with the substance use community for 20 years and has seen firsthand how people can change their lives in ways they once thought unimaginable. She has a particular interest in helping people make sense of life transitions. Divorce, death, grief, career, and economic changes are some of the transitions she has helped clients navigate with increased clarity, insight, and awareness.
