Elizabeth Frietsch, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
At this time, I'm scheduling evening appointments. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas with a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria at Katy. Since 2015, I have primarily worked with adolescent and adult survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based modality developed specifically to reduce the effects of trauma. Trauma's impact can linger for many years, and I am here to help you process the reminders of your past that still affect you, whether recent or long ago. Through my work with trauma survivors, I have also gained experience supporting individuals overcoming depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and attachment or intimacy fears. I am a safe person for all individuals, including those on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and people of diverse or no religious beliefs. As a foster/adoptive parent, I have extensive experience navigating the Texas foster care system and understand the unique parenting challenges involved in raising children who have experienced trauma. I am familiar with Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), a parenting approach designed for children from hard places. Having spent my career in education and social services, I am knowledgeable about preventing and addressing compassion fatigue and burnout. I recognize that starting counseling can feel vulnerable or intimidating, so it is important to me to be a completely safe, non-judgmental, and affirming counselor who can support you through even the heaviest topics.
