“I came here because I worked with her previously and really vibed with her. I had to stop seeing her because the previous company didn't take my insurance. She really is fantastic, she listens about all the crazy things in my life and doesn't judge. I would recommend her to everyone.”

Getting to know Elizabeth Hightower Stanley

My name is Elizabeth, and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Texas and Arizona. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. I am also a certified school counselor and transitioned to full-time mental health counseling after working as a high school counselor. I have been counseling for nine years, primarily in school settings, helping students with family problems, academic struggles, relationship issues, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, LGBT-related concerns, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and suicidal ideation. Before becoming a counselor, I spent six years as an elementary teacher. I have experience working with both adults and adolescents. I love seeing my clients gain a better understanding of themselves and improve their mental health. I feel comfortable counseling people from diverse backgrounds, especially those different from my own. My entire professional career has been spent working with a primarily Hispanic population, but I am also comfortable with other cultures. I am a big fan of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, though I tailor my approach to each client by incorporating different counseling philosophies as needed. I believe my clients are the experts on their own lives, and I want to work collaboratively with them to enhance their contentment, coping skills, and mental health. Having a nonjudgmental, unbiased person to talk to is important and beneficial-one of the best parts of counseling. I often use humor to lighten the mood, which helps build strong relationships with my clients. Congratulations on taking the first step toward getting help. I would love to work with you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
