Getting to know Elizabeth Jabour

Liz has devoted several years to focusing on how struggles with mental illness, addictions, life stressors, and problematic sexual behaviors impact emotional and physical well-being. Holding a Master's in Social Work from Grand Valley State University, Liz uses evidence-based practices to work with individuals and couples as they gain freedom from these behaviors and transform their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a therapist, my focus is on how struggles with mental illness, substance use and problematic sexual behaviors affect emotional and physical well-being, and I support others as they gain freedom from these behaviors. I offer individual, couples, and group therapy services to help meet the needs of those seeking recovery. Our first few sessions together will focus on getting to know one another and assuring this feels like a good fit. From there, we will work on identifying specific goals and areas of focus by creating a treatment plan specific to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical therapy session will last for approximately 53 minutes. During this time together we will discuss progress from the previous session, new stressors or topics that came up, and any goals for the upcoming weeks. We will utilize approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive reprocessing therapy, distress tolerance, and other skills.
