I’m a native of San Diego, but studied at UC Berkeley for my Bachelor’s Degree, then lived in Chile, Brazil and Mexico before coming back to San Diego. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from SDSU in 2006. My career has been centered at various non-profits and outpatient clinics, working with adults, children, teens and the chronically ill. With more than 15 years in the mental health field, my clients have come from diverse cultural backgrounds and have had various challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief & loss, past trauma, and relationship issues. My husband, father and father-in-law are veterans, giving me a personal knowledge of the military experience. I love working with... I love working with clients who are trying to manage depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief & loss, past trauma, or who are just feeling stuck in a place they no longer want to be. Some of my favorite approaches include... My approach is eclectic, and may include the use of CBT, EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, trauma-focused interventions, guided imagery and art therapy. We can collaborate to find the right fit for you, and decide on goals that you feel motivated to work on. How I help... Using a style that is personable, accepting and non-judgmental, my clients see me as a real person who cares about them and their concerns. I believe... I believe that all clients have the solution within themselves. I'm just a guide to help them find it. What it's like in session with me My goal is to identify and utilize all the strengths that clients have within themselves. My style is more gentle as opposed to direct, which may or may not be what a client is looking for.
