Getting to know Elizabeth Lombardi

Charles Dickens wrote, “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” As a therapist, my objective-my “use”-is to be the instrument through which my clients find relief from their burdens in order to recognize a path for personal growth and, ultimately, greater contentment in life. We all know that life can be challenging and can sometimes even feel overwhelming. When it does, for whatever the reason-anxiety, depression, family or relationship troubles, work stress-therapy can make all the difference. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University–New Brunswick and have been in private practice since 2012. I truly love my work. Hard work is good work, as they say. I use an eclectic combination of modalities (CBT, EMDR, DBT, and mind-body awareness) because I understand that one size does not fit all. In addition, I offer specialized support for those facing infertility treatment. My goal is to customize your sessions to help you work through whatever is bothering you and to help you move forward in your life in an authentic, fulfilling way. I work both in person (NJ) and online (NY and NJ). Take care, and I look forward to hearing from you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to make both my office and my online experience as stress-free as possible. I understand that for therapy to really work, the client must feel that the clinician is the right fit for them. The goal is always for the client to feel as comfortable as possible so that he/she/they can do the work. For those of you who opt to see me in person, my dog generally joins us. His name is Sam (photo attached). He loves people and my clients really love him.

I’ve been working with Elizabeth for a period of time now. She is all the things you’d look for, patient, kind, professional, playful, intuitive, and real. She brings thoughtful observations, questions and creates a very safe environment to work in. I cannot write enough good tings on here, she was simply born to do the job she does.
