“I would wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth. She is very patient, an active listener, and all around a very kind person. I was seeing Elizabeth for a few years and we always had great rapport and I felt very comfortable in sessions. She was very helpful in her balance of support and listening, while also being able to chime in with her perspective and thought starters in-session. She would also recommend different mindfulness practices, topics to look into, etc. that were relevant for between sessions. If you're looking for a therapist, do not hesitate to book a call with her - Elizabeth is one of the best!”

Getting to know Elizabeth Milano

I'm passionate about working with individuals who often feel overwhelmed by intense emotions or who consider themselves highly sensitive people. Without the right tools, big feelings can feel isolating and hard to manage and can even negatively impact your relationships. I'm here to give you helpful techniques and support so you don’t have to navigate them alone. I love helping people feel more grounded and in control of their thoughts, emotions, and reactions. I also really enjoy supporting people as they build and strengthen healthy, fulfilling relationships. From our very first session, my goal is to offer the support, understanding, and nonjudgmental space you deserve. This is your time to speak freely, be heard, and feel safe being fully yourself. I’ll never label you as “too much” or “too sensitive,” even if others have. Together, we’ll explore what’s behind those intense emotions and develop practical, effective strategies to help you feel more emotionally balanced and resilient.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to give you relief and support from the very beginning. Even after our first therapy session you should feel heard, understood and supported by my compassion and clinical expertise. I want you to know that you don't have to do this alone and I will help you to solve your problems and address your concerns. I use a friendly and relatable approach in therapy to make sure you feel at ease and like you can be your full authentic self in sessions. I love being a therapist and have known I wanted to help people improve their mental health since I was young. I really enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them to actually see progress on their goals. I've been lucky to get to work with some truly great people! I specialize in supporting people who struggle to manage overwhelming emotions and want practical, effective tools to cope in healthier, more productive ways. I also focus on helping people improve their relationships with their partner, family and friends. I know finding a new therapist can be a challenge, so I strive to make the process as easy as possible and am available to answer any questions you have.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before our first session, I’ll ask you to complete a few forms through my secure client portal. This gives you a chance to share your reasons for starting therapy, current stressors, and the goals you'd like to work toward. I’ll review everything thoroughly ahead of time so I can come into our first meeting prepared to support you effectively. In our initial session, you’ll have space to talk more about how you've been feeling and ask any questions you may have. I’ll take the time to truly listen and get to know you, and we’ll begin discussing what’s been weighing on you. I’ll also explain how therapy with me works and the ways I can help. Typically, I meet with clients weekly or biweekly via secure video or phone sessions. Each session offers you a safe space to open up, process your thoughts, and gain clarity. I also share practical tools and evidence-based strategies to help you manage your emotions and improve your mental health in real, meaningful ways. You’ll leave sessions feeling like you’ve gained something useful, not like you’re just talking in circles. Throughout our work together, I’ll regularly check in with you to see how therapy is going, what’s working well and what could be better. Your feedback is always welcome, because my goal is to be the most helpful and supportive therapist I can be for you. Ultimately, I’m here to help you feel better, gain insight, and create positive, lasting change in your life.

From our very first session, I felt truly seen and heard. Elizabeth created a safe, non-judgmental space where I was able to open up at my own pace. She skillfully blended empathy with deep clinical insight, helping me untangle feelings of pain and trauma. What once felt overwhelming and impossible to talk about gradually became something I could process and release. With her support, I not only healed—I grew. I learned how to sit with difficult emotions, reconnect with myself. There were tears, yes—but also breakthroughs! Help exists with Elizabeth.
Dr. Elizabeth Milano has helped me profoundly

I originally went to her for increased anxiety in my everyday life and feeling depressed about my recent weight gain- since then I have resolved all those anxious feeling and regained my confidence with her help. She gave me great techniques to use and help me through my anxieties. I could not recommend her enough! She was always so kind and supportive, always there is I needed an emergency session and really listened- she is so easy to talk to. Through the years she felt like she became a friend it always remaining professional.
Elizabeth is the ultimate professional. She takes time to get to know her clients and the root cause of their issues. She makes it known that she cares about her clients at a personal level. Elizabeth takes time to make sure that her clients understand, not only what her clients may be experiencing, but she ensures that her clients understand that she is aware of every detail of her clients lives and experiences. I would recommend Elizabeth to anyone seeking her expertise.
Elizabeth is a wonderful therapist. From the very beginning, she helped me evaluate my main focus areas and build thoughtful and actionable ways to address them. I appreciate the thought, attention and care she puts into each of our sessions. She is kind-hearted and non-judgmental, but also encourages me to dig deeper on the difficult subject. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a solid therapist!
I highly recommend Liz! I have been seeing her for a few months now and actually look forward to the appointments. She is great at listening and helping with tough stuff. Therapy can be intimidating at first, but she has such a warm approach! Talking to her feels safe, and she gives great advice and suggestions that actually work. She is really kind and understanding, and I've seen a lot of positive changes in myself since I started seeing her.
Liz has been great. I've been very impressed that sessions always start on time, are never canceled or rescheduled, and she makes sure we get the full hour. She is incredibly empathetic, a good listener, and offers invaluable perspective. Highly recommend!
I started seeing Elizabeth via telehealth in 2020, and she has been the best therapist I’ve had since I started going in and out of therapy since 2014. She’s incredibly empathetic and kind, but she’s also makes sure to challenge you, and her DBT approach is incredibly helpful. She helped me grow into a more confident and self-assured person. I always recommend her to people whenever they ask me about therapy. Truly, I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t found her when I did! Highly recommend 10/10!!
I have had an amazing experience working with Ms. Milano. She is kind, compassionate, and completely pays attention to everything you say. With someone like me, listening to everything I say can be quite a task. She has made heself available outside normal hours. She reminds me where I succeed and supports and helps me when all I can see is the negative. I wish you could hang out with therapists as friends because that is what she feels like to me. A friend. At the same time, she maintains a professional and objective view on my issues, so I know that I am getting a great partnership and advice. I know people have to talk directly wtih a therapist to see if they fit, but I can't imagine her not being a fit with anyone. She obviously researches and finds new and innovative ways to work with you, and she can morph into a friend giving tough love to a shoulder to cry on, within the same session to give you what you need. Looking for the best therapist? Look no further. You've found her!
Elizabeth has been a wonderful professional in all our visits. She has seen me many times over the years and I truly can’t recommend her enough. She’s caring while balancing accountability and a realistic approach to therapy. I’ve always left our sessions feeling recharged and more centered than I was before them. Her interventions are always insightful, kind and helpful. My mental health journey would not be the same without her.
I do not think there are enough words to express my gratitude towards Elizabeth. As someone who used to question whether or not Therapy was worth it I can tell you, Elizabeth made it worth it. She always finds ways to help me in whatever we are discussing. She gives me analogies that I take with me and think about all the time. If you are looking for someone who listens to you and wants the best for you Elizabeth is your girl!!

Elizabeth is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. It took a lot for me to start therapy and I chatted with multiple therapist before coming across Elizabeth. She made me feel welcome and heard. She made me self reflect and really analyze my habits. I am not sure where I would be today without her. During one of the hardest times in my life, Elizabeth was my constant and helped me open up. Being a Latino, talking about emotions and feelings has never been my thing. I thought it made me weak but through therapy I learned what true strength is. An amazing therapist, extremely knowledgeable, caring, and an overall great person. Highly recommend.

I had been struggling with my Mental Health and accepting certain health issues. From my first appointment With Elizabeth she made me feel comfortable and like she genuinely cared. I have seen other therapist in my past and honestly never came out of it feeling like I gained anything, however with Elizabeth I feel like she helped me learn how to love myself and has helped to teach me the tools on how to navigate life struggles. I’m a happier person because of her. I look forward to continuing to work with her and grow as a person.
I was a patient of Liz's for close to three years, and she helped me crawl out of one of the lowest points of my life. I am so grateful to her for her patience, kindness, humor, and great advice & work to help me get better. I feel like a completely different person compared to who I was when I first started seeing her! She helped me facilitate my own growth and conquer so many hurdles - both in my day-to-day and in my head. I genuinely believe I couldn't have done this all without her compassion and help; I can't recommend her enough. Thank you so much, Liz!
