What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach blends traditional talk therapy with psychosocial education to strengthen body and mind awareness and control to support long-term change in health and wellness. What does that mean for you? I will listen with empathy and non-judgmental understanding to your life's story. I will provide the information and tools to make external life style changes and internal mind, emotional, and belief changes to support healthy change. I will challenge you to implement action steps to achieve your goals as well as explore roadblocks and solutions that interfere with achievement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It begins with connection. The 15-20 min consultation is our opportunity to start on the right note. I strive to hear you, what is motivating you in this moment to seek therapy. I will authentically share the basics of my approach which is based on who I am as a clinician. Finally the consultation outlines the basics of my business practice, the nuts and bolts of working together. The initial phase of any therapeutic counseling process has it's foundation in building upon that initial connection. Depending upon our synergy your initial goals maybe where we begin and end. Although many people find the process of therapy to far exceed their initial expectations and find new goals to strive for in the therapy process. Ultimately the process of therapy with me is unique for each client because it is never the same as it depends on you.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $200 for 90 minutes
Ongoing session: $150 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork

More information on payments and coverage

The free consultation to discuss you, my counseling approach, and logistics is a non-negotiable part of the process. You will need to register in the patient/client portal system that I use. I currently use Headway. You will need to complete intake paperwork fully before attending the intake appointment after the consultation. I am legally not able to see you without completed paperwork and if you need assistance additional support will be provided (no charge no matter how long it takes us to do). I understand that a preferred method of paying for services is to use any available method which reduces your out of pocket cost. I currently I accept both private pay, select insurance, and one EAP program for payment. I also accept clients with private pay for a reduce fee (i.e. sliding scale rate) based on qualifying factors through Open Path and A Home Within.
