Hi! My name is Elizabeth R. Gardner and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I received a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Texas A&M International University and a Masters's in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College. I am also pursuing a certification as a Registered Play Therapist. My work experience includes working at the Webb County Youth Village Detention Center, Webb County Treatment Program and as a full-time mental health counselor as well as a clinical supervisor at PILLAR a non-profit organization. I also have experience working at United School District in Laredo, TX. I specialize in Play Therapy with children and adolescents and use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Narrative Therapy, and psycho-education for individuals age 8 and up. A holistic, strength-based, person-centered approach guides my practice. My theory is people who have the motivation to improve and the courage to seek growth through vulnerability and hard work can accomplish ALL the goals they desire. I am a proud mom of four boys and love traveling! I also enjoy spending time with my pets which include 3 pups and 2 chickens!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first session will be different from future visits. During our initial visit, we will get to know each other and get an idea on what the area of focus will be. During the following visits we will explore a specific symptom, problem, or past trauma. As the process unfolds there will be an opportunity to be dynamic and explore other symptoms that may arise. We will work together to achieve the goals that will improve your life!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
