Psychotherapist
OR
Welcome! My name is Elizabeth (Sky) Salgueiro (she/her/hers). I am a queer therapist offering culturally inclusive, trauma-conscious, and identity affirming care. My approach My approach is warm, curious, and connective. I work with women and femmes who want to understand how their primary relationships shaped their core beliefs. Together, we can explore and integrate your conflicted, inner parts at a pace that feels right to you. You might benefit from working with me if you would like to go beyond talk therapy to deepen internal trust, live as your authentic self, and create more meaningful relationships. My focus Many people seek counseling when they are overwhelmed by unhealthy patterns in their relationships with partners, friends, family, or coworkers. Our earliest relationships shape our understanding of love. When these relationships are unpredictable, abusive, or absent, it affects how we feel about ourselves and how we perceive the world. This can result in lingering anxiety, shame, insecurity, anger, sadness, or feeling disconnected. My focus is liberating and restorative so that the past does not define a person. I use system-aware psychology that does not pathologize, but seeks greater understanding of the adaptive responses a person has developed. I help individuals exit survival mode and rediscover their inner wisdom. My integrative approach nurtures the body, mind, and spirit to cultivate holistic healing. People who might work well with me include: Anyone interested in Somatic Therapy or Internal Family Systems, Highly sensitive people, Deeply feeling people, Neurodivergent thinkers, Creative beings who question the “norm”, Counseling graduate students, Women/femmes, College students, those in the LGBTQ community, and people healing from abusive relationships or systems. My communication style Sharing your most private thoughts and feelings can be very scary, and I make sure to create an intentional space that is non-judgmental and compassionate.
