“Liz is an incredible practitioner who actually took the time to listen and hear her to me. I was working through some trauma associated with grief and Liz was always there to gently guide me and show me avenues for healing that I did not think were possible. She is always very considerate of my time and has never been late to a session. I am so grateful to have found her services and finally feel with her help that I am on the road to healing. ”

Getting to know Elizabeth Smith

I’m a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) providing virtual therapy to adolescents and adults across New York and Connecticut. I specialize in supporting people navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship stress. My style is collaborative and supportive, blending traditional talk therapy with creative and somatic tools when helpful. Sessions are always guided by your goals—you never need prior experience with art therapy to work with me. Clients often come to me when they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or at a turning point and want a space that feels thoughtful, grounded, and nonjudgmental.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a supportive, collaborative approach focused on understanding your concerns and working toward meaningful change. I integrate talk therapy with creative and somatic tools when helpful, always at your comfort level. Sessions are paced with care and guided by your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and creativity. I believe in the importance of providing clients with psychoeducation and utilize evidence based techniques and theory in treatment. Through utilizing art as a therapeutic medium, I help clients explore their emotions, navigate transitions, and tap into their inner creativity to facilitate healing and growth.
