Psychotherapist
FL
Hello there! My name is Elizabeth Taylor, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been working as a counselor for the past 7 years, although I have been involved in the mental health field for much longer. I began working as a Mental Health Technician when I was an Airman in the United States Air Force in 2007. I worked closely with military men and women returning from deployments and experiencing symptoms of PTSD. I led Anger Management and Stress Management groups. This experience grew my desire to enter a field that involves helping those struggling with mental health challenges to find healing. After separating from the Air Force, I went to grad school at Walden University, where I earned my Master's in Counseling. Since graduating, I have worked as a therapist with several different populations, including families involved with the foster care system, adult inmates in prison, youth in the Juvenile Justice system, adults in community mental health, children in the school setting, and, most recently, adults and children in private practice. I have a passion for working with those suffering from anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I have specialized training in EMDR to help treat trauma, as well as ERP, which has been shown to be the "Gold Standard" treatment for OCD.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session together will be spent getting to know and what brought you to therapy. We will work on developing an appropriate treatment approach based on your goals for yourself. We will spend time processing any significant events from the past and learning all about you and why your brain learned to function and perceive the world the way that it does. That will help us understand your current responses that may be maladaptive. There will likely be some homework involved, meant to build upon skills we have discussed and to help us review their effectiveness. Sometimes, therapy may feel worse before it feels better, but my hope is that each session will leave you feeling closer to reaching your own personal goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
