Getting to know Elizabeth Willard

The Latin root of the word motivation means “to move”. In order to move we need to have a purpose and a goal as well as the confidence to believe in ourselves and the decisions we make. Trauma, including PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, relationships with food and eating, self harm and suicide ideation are the areas where the majority of my clients are challenged. Gaining self awareness, confidence and belief in yourself and your abilities, and the courage to move through the hard stuff, will be the foundation for creating a new way to move in the world. I believe in working together as a team, with both adults and adolescents. You will be the driver, and I will be the passenger sitting beside you as we explore what is important and meaningful to you. Let’s start the journey and work efficiently in getting you back into your life where you will thrive and grow. You will be amazed at what you can do! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am always learning and training to gain new skills for the benefit of my clients. I have experience in Medical Social Work (hospital setting), Palliative Care and Hospice, Adoption (as an adoptive parent and also working for an International and Domestic Adoption agency), Maternal Mental Health, and private practice. I am trained in EMDR through the EMDR Institute, have extensive training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) including working with trauma and adolescents, and additional training in Complex Trauma and Dissociation. I am Certified in Eagala Equine Therapy, and have Maternal Mental Health training through Post Partum Support International. My approach is strength-based , solution focused, trauma focused and mindfulness based.
