Getting to know Ellen Mitchell

Feeling depressed and seeking help can be confusing and difficult to think about. It is even harder to set up an appointment with someone who will ask questions that could make you uncomfortable. I like to remind my clients that they are in the “driver’s seat” because they are the experts in their lives. I encourage clients to tell me if I need to do something differently in session or if they are not getting what they need in our sessions. I work with adults, ages 19 and older, dealing with trauma (PTSD and complex PTSD), anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. These are my specialties, but I help people who are dealing with other problems as well. I recently received advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. My clients are strong. They are courageous enough to ask for help. That is a personal strength! Together, we will build strengths and work to get you feeling better in the life you deserve.
