At Waypower Counseling, we specialize in individualized mental health counseling. Founded on the concept that hope-hope for improvement, hope for personal growth-requires two things, Waypower Counseling is here to support you. The first is willpower, or motivation, which we assume you have if you've landed here. The second is Waypower-clarity on what the path forward looks like. If you know you want to make some changes but aren't sure how to get there, that's where we can help. Whether you are seeking relief from symptoms of anxiety or depression, navigating a major life transition that feels harder than it should, feeling "stuck," or experiencing relationships that aren't quite what you want, therapy can help. With a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from UT Southwestern Medical Center, I bring specialized training to guide you toward meaningful growth and healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I typically work from a cognitive behavioral and person-centered therapy framework. I specialize in individual treatment for adults with symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transition challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

An intake session with me includes an interview process and review of a few brief mental health screening assessments, selected based on your primary concerns. The goal of an intake session is to gather information necessary to create a thorough treatment plan, prioritizing your goals for therapy and steps we may take to achieve them. From there, therapy sessions are typically scheduled weekly at the outset and last approximately one hour. Frequency of sessions may be adjusted based on client need and progress.
